One of the most common mistakes people make is to think that suppressing their emotions and pretending that nothing happened would help them get back to normal life, but the loss and emotion keep bottling up and could lead to huge mental breakdowns at times when you don't want to express them.

Losing loved ones could distrust your ability to think and consider things and decisions wisely. Still, some people make major life decisions like moving to new places or quitting their jobs, etc., hoping and believing this would make them feel a bit better, but they may regret their choices once they overcome the sorrow phase.
3. Isolation and Source of Escape
When a person is used to doing almost everything together, and suddenly their significant other is not around anymore, they lose all their will to do anything, cut off all their social interactions, and isolate themselves, thinking it would help with a coping mechanism. 4. Sleeplessness
Losing someone comes with distress and overwhelming feelings that keep you up all night without a single moment of sleep. If continued, this practice harms a person's mind and thoughts, and this is when the body needs sleep the most because all the energy gets drained just by the thoughts of their spouse.
5. Neglection of Life and Environment
The cloud of grief shadows everything in the life of a grieving person and makes everything seem like not a prime thing, such as their environment and themselves. Self-neglect in their surroundings deems them deeper and darker into a gloom of sadness, and they find easy tasks overwhelming and unnecessary.
6. Comparison of Grief Period
As every person's perspective and mentality differs, the same goes for their agony span. Every individual has a distinctive denial strategy according to the situation, and the season of grief is a long and tough one that is not simple to go through. Some people start new and fresh sooner than others, but it doesn't define the power and progress of the other and should not be compared.
7. Guilt of Moving On
Misery doesn't come as a single feeling but in different forms and waves of emotion that lead to disappointment, sadness, anger, numbness, depression, etc. One of them is the sense of betrayal. Some individuals think that if they start to build a new life and goals without the involvement of their loved ones, they are somehow betraying them.
8. Spending Mismanagement
We have heard about shopping therapy or shopping sprees. It's just as much the same when people with great loss, to get away from it, try to indulge themselves in activities that, if overdone, will have bad consequences. One of them is spending too much in the name of emotional support on things you like.
9. Memories
Neglecting memories of the soulmate or living entirely indulged with them both is not a great choice to handle the big turbulence of life. Most people try to get rid of or hide their spouse's belongings so they don't get sad all over again of overwhelming emotions, or some consider it their ambition to make their life completely revolve around the memories in fear of not forgetting their loved ones.
10. Mental Health Ignorance
Tragic losses like these take a great toll on one's mental health, and the taboo of getting therapy and opening up about the grief, considered a sign of weakness, makes it even worse. Although people now are considering therapy rather than suffering on their own, some individuals still hesitate to take this step in order not to endure all the agony again.
