Traveling is not always about witnessing eye-pleasing landscapes. Sometimes, people go through their life's worst experiences when visiting a country for fun or professional purposes. Such incidents could range from witnessing supernatural entities to experiencing spooky atmospheres or safety concerns. A few individuals on an online platform shared such encounters on their trip to different countries, as listed below: 

1. Turkmenistan

Many users stated about the eerie atmosphere they witnessed while exploring Turkmenistan. One of them mentioned coming across a hotel with strange vibes. Upon trying to book the room, they were told that it was already full. However, the twist was that there was no one inside. The rooms weren't furnished either. 

2. A Demilitarized Zone Between North and South Korea

A traveler went on to discover a zone between North and South Korea that gave creepy vibes for several reasons. For instance, they came across a deserted playground that can send shivers down one's spine. Another worth-mentioning spooky event they witnessed was the presence of an empty train station. Although it shows a train to Pyongyang on screen, no one uses that at all. 

3. East Germany

Someone mentioned their experience of traveling past the big wall in Berlin by the time it came down. For them, it was easier to distinguish when the country's east region started, all thanks to the old and broken buildings. While they did not encounter anything too scary, the bullet and bomb marks on the infrastructure of the region gave them quite strange vibes. 

4. Alabama – USA

In the US, a person's experience while traveling through Alabama was quite scary. They shared about seeing lots of trees that looked spooky with a red soil backdrop. Other than this, they even came across some strange stick figures hanging on trees that further added to their fear. Someone replied that this scenario resembles a scene from Stephen King's novel as a sarcastic remark.

While a user praises the beauty of Russia's St. Petersburg, they also share about the sad and heavy vibes it carries. According to them, the city was trying to be pretty, but its infrastructure was a major roadblock. The old, broken, and unfinished buildings and churches had them feel a spooky aura.

A couple who loves island hopping mentioned feeling unsafe in the Dominican Republic because of a few instances. For example, when they were roaming around a tourist market, a man tried to grab the female. Similarly, despite staying at a 5-star resort, their personal belongings were scrutinized without permission.

According to a user who visited Nepal, the country's people had a unique relationship with ghosts, as almost everyone had a scary encounter to share. They further added that their friend's sister even offered to stay in the same room so no ghosts would attack the visitors. Replying to this individual, someone stated that seeing people with missing noses and ears in the country was quite shocking to them.

A person who went on a road trip to Florida from West Virginia shared about a strange encounter that they had on the way. They saw many overweight individuals having missing teeth with guns in their hands. While this was a spooky experience itself, getting lost on their way made things more difficult. No one was ready to show them the right direction after asking for help.
