15 Habits You Probably Developed if You Weren’t Loved as a Child

Childhood is a basic learning stage where we learn to love, admire, appreciate, and trust others. But if the basis is not right, how can the whole system be? Most children do not get a healthy learning phase and do not get enough support or love; hence, they develop certain habits in those children. Let's look at those habits we would probably develop if our childhood were toxic. 

1. Trust Issues

Children who survive the most unloved childhood will likely develop trust issues in their youth. Sadly, Those children always find it difficult to trust others' intentions. Moreover, they always doubt other people's ideas because there can be hidden agendas behind them. Hence, a toxic childhood breaks the child's trust. 

2. Acceptance by Others

It's no longer a secret that children who don't experience a lovely childhood are always ready to do things for others just to fit in the circle. Most of the time, they sacrifice their self-desire and wishes so that people can accept them and include them in their circle.

Most people pleaser humans are carrying the burden of their childhood traumas. Now, in youth, they don't have the guts to confront anyone and become a yes person for everyone due to toxic childhood. Hence, they are afraid that people will not talk to them and leave them alone, resulting in them saying yes. 

4. Dependent Nature

You will notice that most people who didn't get love in childhood are never confident about their decisions. Hence, they always need help or guidance from others when making decisions. Moreover, those people can't even rely on their abilities and ask for help every time. This is a result of the deep impact of trauma on their mind. 

5. Anxiety Disorders

Children with disturbed childhood are more likely to have anxiety problems, stress issues, or depression. If you were to go through this childhood phase, you would be more prone to overthinking and distress than a normal child. Hence, childhood always plays a role in keeping our mental health on a roll. 

6. No Emotional Intelligence

Children's creativity vanishes during childhood and, hence, their emotional maturity. So, when children don't get love from their parents and elders, they don't see a healthy model of life, which diminishes their emotional intelligence and strength to cope with the worst situations. You will see them panic in every tiny situation. 

7. Attention Seeking Behavior

Children who do not get attention from their parents during childhood likely develop this attention-seeking habit. You will notice that people behave differently and always do something to grab others' attention. Their urge to be in the limelight speaks a lot about their childhood traumas and bad experiences with life. 

8. Perfectionist Syndrome

At a younger age, those children are always in a race to become perfect. They do not accept their flaws heatedly and do not want to lose, which hints towards an inattentive childhood. Moreover, those children always expect too much and strive too hard to reach a perfectionist level, which is not humanly possible. 

9. Fear of Failure

You would probably be a person who always fears failure and can't even do one thing right in this fear. This is what childhood makes an impact on a child's psyche. Those children don't put their heads up and constantly fear that they will fail.

It's sad to see people suffer from self-isolation due to their childhood only. Although it seems normal to stay lonely and distant from others, deep down, it has an impact on their trauma. Moreover, they don't want to get into people because they think people will judge them and hence have self-doubts. 

11. Low Self Confidence

If you face an unloved childhood, you probably won't develop self-confidence. This happens mostly: people don't accept their self-worth and blame themselves only for all the wrongs. Hence, the feeling of not getting love shatters your self-esteem level at a younger age.

12. Triggered Personality

Slowly, with time, you'd adopt a personality where you get triggered by any tiny thing. Hence, it shows inner frustration that doesn't help us keep calm. Moreover, not getting love in childhood means you struggle with your insecurities, which are irritating you with everyday life activities. 

13. No Boundaries

While boundaries are helpful in our growth, those childhood victims always struggle to maintain them. Due to their dependent and people-pleasing attitude, they can't resist themselves to surrender before other people's emotions. Moreover, you will see that those people don't want to take the blame on them, hence the absence of healthy boundaries. 

14. Accepting Toxic Relationships

We can't blame those children who always saw toxicity around them in childhood for choosing toxic friends and partners. Moreover, you'd probably consider this behavior normal and happily get into toxic relations because this is not extraordinary for you, considering your childhood. Hence, you'll find these people hard to get out of toxic patterns. 

15. Hiding the Emotions

As those children grow, you'll see that they stop speaking about their internal struggles and emotions. Those children always try to hide their feelings no matter what happens because they believe there is no one to listen to. Moreover, they won't even cry in front of others as they have a weak mindset.
