Over time crime rates have tremendously increased all over the world. As we have entered the current decade, America has seen a rise in crime statistics. Multiple factors are coming together to cause this rise. By the FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting Program data, these are a few American cities where the crime situation is getting out of hand:

1. Memphis, Tennessee

In Memphis, inequalities and inadequate social services are known to have historical roots. The insufficient educational and employment opportunities have led Memphis to face a high crime rate. It has an extreme crime rate of 20.71 per 1,000 people, showing its heart-breaking condition. 

2. Detroit, Michigan

The criminal condition in Detroit is no better than in Memphis. The biggest cause of its increasing crime rate is its economic challenges. Besides, the opportunities for criminal activities also increase with abandoned properties and a lack of checks and balances in the city. So its crime rate goes up to 20.03 violent crime cases per 1,000 people.

3. Little Rock, Arkansas

Little Rock has a massive violent crime rate due to social disparities and a lack of education and employment. In comparison to Memphis and Detroit, it is two-thirds less populated. However, it still faces a high violent crime rate of 18.15 per 1,000 people.

Pueblo is facing economic challenges and social inequalities for a long time. It has become a spot for gang activities, drug dealings, and more. Pueblo has a significantly high crime rate that is 16 per 1,000 people.

Tacoma is another city facing a high violent crime rate. In Tacoma, out of every 1,000 people, 15.77 have experienced criminal activity. Due to its social disparities and community disinvestment, the city has reached this point of crime rates.
