Devote some resources, time & effort into the art in your home
Stay humble and stay strong
Hey, guys, Max here, have you ever been told that you like attention a little too much and that you should be humble? Well, here's a how to on how to be humble, be strong and enjoy attention all at once beyond order. Rule eight explained. Here we go.
Rule eight, try to make one room in your home as beautiful as possible. Buy a piece of art, find one that speaks to you and make the purchase.
If it is a genuine artistic production, it will invade your life and change it. A real piece of art is a window into the transcendent and you need that in your life because you are finite and limited and bounded by your ignorance. Unless you can make a connection to the transcendent, you will not have the strength to prevail on the challenges of life become daunting. I am by far the most guilty of this. I before I moved into this house, I have another house and it was literally bare walls, bare everything.
It was very, very, very boring, to say the least.
And then I realized, hmm, how do I express myself or how do I tap into the transcendent without anything around me that reminds me of the transcendent is actually there because reading books and having books nearby, I can only go so far. It takes something that you can see that is beautiful. So I put some guitars on the wall, put some people I care about on this wall, put some rules I care about, and I look at those every single day.
And they remind me that life is more than just these books I read, just these videos that I make and just the physical world around me, it's so much more than that. And it takes these things to remind me that there's so much more than what I'm seeing, because at times, challenges in life absolutely suck. Believe me, you know, suffering in life is inevitable. And it's going to happen almost every single day, most of the time. So when you have that little bit of sweetness in life, enjoy it and savor it.
But tapping into these different different types of art, the guitars, the rules, and then the influential influential people reminds me that if they could do it, I can do it. And the beautiful music that I have made with these things really helped me along that path. Have you ever been listening to some music you enjoy and it really hits you emotionally and you become overwhelmed with emotion over filled with emotion? Sometimes I cry, sometimes I just feel overwhelmed with emotion and that's a good thing.
Music and art is supposed to speak to you that way. If if you don't have anything, what that speaks to you that way. I don't know what can speak to you that way. That's the whole meaning of art. Devote some resources, time and effort. I personally have portraits of people who influenced me. I have Ayn Rand, Tommaseo and MLK, three very important people to me. And at some point I'll do a video for each of them.
And of course I have other pieces of different art throughout the house. It's those that really hit me and those that should hit you in a way that's more than just. Hmm, that's a nice portrait of something they're supposed to really hit you at the visceral, emotional level.
That means that you really bought the right piece when the going gets tough.
I really look at real clear in my office and I look at the people who have been here before me and realize that they went through so much more than I and sacrificed and all the people before them went through so much to sacrifice. Let's be a little gracious. Let's have some thankfulness and gratitude in our hearts, because living in the 21st century, today is the best time to be alive. Not even close, not even a close second. It's a fact.
Remember what you're going through. Countless others have gone through. I've gone through a lot.
You've gone through a lot. Many others before. You have gone through, if not the exact same thing, a very similar thing.
You were strong. You can do it. Keep moving forward and find a way to tap into the transcendent, tap into something bigger than yourself. Because when life is all about me, me, me, me, me, life becomes very small and very meaningless when life is about others. And the transcendent life has lots of meaning and lots of vigor. And it's very exciting. Make yourself colorful. Stand out and the lions will take you down and the lions are always there.
Once you decide on an endeavor of any worth, I want to better myself. I want to clean my room. I want to clean up my life. There are lions are going to emerge. They're going to attempt to tear you down and that one of the rules back here was only become friends of those who want really well for you and who really want the best for you.
That's really, really important. Because once you start never having discouragement, although may help in the long run to help you solidify and become strong, it sucks in the short run. It sucks in the media, because if you have no one encouraging you down your path, how are you supposed to continue on your path like diet and exercise or exercise for that matter?
If you don't have a gym buddy and you don't have anybody who's holding you accountable, who's going to hold yourself accountable, you you're going to hold yourself accountable.
Good luck on that.
It's very difficult. Having another person help you throughout the path is really, really, really important.
So just be cognizant of that. There's going to be people who want to tear you down no matter how much success you have, whether it's a tiny bit or a ton, they're going to be people who create a false narrative about you no matter what. If you have any success on improving yourself and improving your community, people are jealous that they do not do it. It's covertness. It's one of the deadly commandments that we were told not to do thousands of years ago.
Thou shalt not covet. Do not be jealous, be happy and enjoy your fellow man success. That's a great thing. The more they succeed, hopefully the more that encourages you to succeed as well. The lines are always there attempting to plot your demise or actively going after your demise. Suit up, boot up and be ready. All right. Question of the day.
What piece of art do you have your eye on or what thing do you want to put on your walls?
And what is your favorite if you already have one? My favorite are my portraits of my people, Ayn Rand, MLK and Thomas, all three very influential people in my life and my like a video of all of them at some point. But what is your favorite or what is going to be your favorite? Make sure to like and subscribe and I will see you guys on the flipside.
