Women's cosmetics are the most pricy items they own. Local products are expensive, but luxury cosmetics are way more expensive than their manufacturing costs. And women usually opt for the pricy option because it's the face they get products for. Luxury cosmetics are still the highest pricy things compared to their real price.
2. Luxury Clothing & Accessories Brands
Suppose you do a quick research on the top-selling business in the whole world. You will see clothing and accessories among them. Because it's everyone's necessity. Designers and luxury brands have made their names among the top sellers. But they have such a high retail price that it makes you feel cringe. The production cost will be so low for such items, but they are selling them at quite an exaggerated rate.Â
3. Bottled Water
Another expensive thing is bottled water. You can get a glass of water from your house tap. It will be nearly free. But when you go out and have to buy bottled water, you realize it's quite a scam. They sell you the same water with a price tag of $7 to $10. Boutique water is even more expensive than local bottled water. It gives you a shock at how expansive water can get.
4. Diamonds
Diamonds are the most pricy and overhyped item in this world. There is no doubt that diamonds look so pretty. But their price is not worth the hype. The money it costs to dig them out of the mines is much less than their retail price. Each brand makes its fortune out of them as customers buy such overpriced diamonds.
5. Theater Popcorn
Theatre popcorn is the most expensive thing you can ever purchase. You get in line to buy popcorn and snacks before a movie. When you get the bill, you get the price shock. It will make you rethink that you have wasted not only your money but also your time. Making the same popcorn at home will be a few bucks. Buying them from a theatre snacks stall is another story to be told.
6. Eyewear
People with weak eyesight know the pain of eyewear expenses. You have to buy a new pair of glasses every few months. And if you go for designer wear, they are a hell of expensive. Manufacturing a piece takes only ten dollars and maybe a few more. But they are sold with such a high price tag that it makes your eyes tear up.
7. Candles
Candle wax is one of the cheapest raw materials you can purchase. But when you buy a candle, you will be amazed to see the price tag. Candles are so expensive than their raw material. And if those are such fancy candles for events such as birthdays, weddings, etc. They will be double the price of normal ones. And if you go for scented candles, voila, they are the most overpriced.
8. Books
If you ask any book lover who collects books for a personal library, they'll tell you how expensive books are. Whether it's normal and cozy books or some course books, they are all sold at a high price. It will be even more expensive than average if it's a high-selling title or a famous writer's book. They have ten times higher prices than publishing costs.
9. Designer Watches Brands
Luxury watch brands have made their name in the accessories section. It has big brand names such as Rolex, Gucci, Omega, and many others. They are expansive as hell. The production cost for all those watches will be pretty much the same. But they are sold for thousands of dollars and more.Â
10. Vintage Items
Vintage items have quite a hype these days. But they do not pretty much deserve the hype. If vintage clothes are sold in auctions, they cost much more than normal clothes. If we look at their manufacturing cost, it will not be one-third of what they sell for. They really are crazy expensive.
