10 Popular Shows That Fell Short According to Viewers

Every TV show is created with a purpose to have a unique storyline and follow a genre. These popular shows missed the make in several ways, including falling into a genre. 

1. Frasier (1993–2004)

David Angell has directed this show. Kelsey Grammer performs the central character role. The show is based on situation comedy. The main reason for its genre failure is that the audience felt the show ridiculed itself. A viewer has also commented that Frasier makes fun of pretentious people, in other words, itself. 

2. The Big Bang Theory (2007 – 2019)

Chuck Lorre directs the show. The cast includes Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki. The Big Bang Theory is a comedy show that focuses on the friendship of two individuals who keep making scientific efforts. The show could not grab the attention of the audience. A critic posted a harsh comment that this show is for dumb people to feel competent.

3. The Walking Dead (2010–2022)

Frank Darabont directed this show, and Andrew Lincoln played the lead role. The show is about the Zombies who are on the quest to overrun humanity. A cinephile has written that this was a good show until Season 5; it only had occasional good episodes. The audience got bored due to a similar theme played in every season. 

4. How I Met Your Mother (2005 –2014)

Carter Bays and Craig Thomas have directed this show. The main cast comprises Jason Segel, Josh Radnor, and Cobie Smulders. The storyline of this TV drama is a flashback story. The writer has tried to create humour out of various situations. A user has commented that I wanted to like this show, but it's not funny. The monotonous nature of the story tends to lose the audience's focus.

5. Emily in Paris (2020)

This TV show is directed by Darren Star, and Lily Collins plays the lead role. The drama is about a female who moves to Paris for a job. This TV show could not get the audience's attention as a romantic comedy could have. A TV show fan has added that this show could not grab my attention due to the apparent storyline. 

6. Lucifer (2016 – 2021)

Tom Kapinosis, the creator of this show, and Tom Ellis acted as the main characters. The show is based on fiction, in which a devil starts living in LA and starts assisting police in solving criminal cases. The unrealistic storyline added to this drama's failure in the Genre. 

7. Euphoria (2019)

Sam Levinson has directed this show. The lead actors in this show are Angus Cloud, Zendaya, and Maude Apatow. A user describes the viewers' mixed feelings by stating, I understand that many people don't like the show and there is too much happening. However, still, for me, it's one great show that works with people's psychological state and consequences from early youth. The show is about the life of teenage students. 

8. Ozark (2017 – 2022)

Bill Dubuque and Mark Williams created this show. Laura Linney and Jason Bateman play the lead role. The plot of this show revolves around a family trapped in the circle of a drug cartel. The typical Genre could not get the desired attention of the audience. A TV show enthusiast wrote that this show started so strong that it could not keep up the pace by the end.

9. Survivor (2000)

Charlie Parsons is the creator of this show, and Jeff Probst has performed as host. This is a reality show involving exciting twists and turns. The incentive of a cash prize for the winner makes it more thrilling. A regular viewer commented that I lost interest in the show once I discovered it was more or less staged.

10. Lost (2004 – 2010)

Damon Lindelof has directed this TV show. The show revolves around the plane crash survivors. The show is long drawn out; thus, it lost attention quickly. A TV show critic wrote that the 1st series was good. Then, it got unimaginably slow, and I lost interest in it.
