Mainstream media certainly holds the lion's share in visual broadcast media. However, several shows have earned their space by creating a lasting impact on viewers through their quality content. Let's look at ten exciting shows with you that deserve a standing ovation.  

1. Mr. Inbetween (2018–2021)

Scott Ryan is the creator and lead actor in this show. A viewer has commented about this show that this is the definition of a “hidden gem.” Creator/Writer/Star Scott Ryan is magnetic, perfectly balanced between intimidating and charming. The genre of this show is dark comedy, in which a guy tries to create some balance between his personal and professional life. 

2. Loudermilk (2017–20120)

Peter Farrelly and Bobby Mort are the creators of this show. Ron Livingston performs the lead role. Loudermilk is a comedy series whose story revolves around a person who counsels addicts. A fan commented that this is one of the funniest, heartfelt shows. Great characters and storytelling with the perfect amount of humor spread in. 

3. Better off Ted (2009 – 2010)

Victor Fresco directs this show. Jay Harrington and Portia de Rossi are the lead role artists in this comedy drama. The storyline is about the working environment of a corporate company. The ethical issues and working atmosphere have been highlighted humorously. An unknown commenter has commented that this show was well ahead of its time.

4. Person of Interest (2011 – 2016)

Jonathan Nolan is the director of this show. The starring includes Jim Caviezel and Michael Emerson. A comment from a female fan is a real testament to its popularity; she commented that I watched it when it first aired, and now I'm making my husband watch it. This show is all about science fiction. The creator has beautifully orchestrated ideas related to artificial intelligence.

5. Happy Endings (2011 – 2013)

David Caspe is the director of this show. The starring includes Eliza Coupe, Elisha Cuthbert, and Zachary Knighton. The story of Happy Ending is about a few friends whose friendship is following a rollercoaster path. The creator has created exclusivity in the show by incorporating sharp humor and an unusual storyline. A film reviewer wrote that Happy Ending is surprisingly funny with equally surprising longevity. 

6. Burn Notice (2007 – 2013)

The credit for creating this masterwork goes to Matt Nix. Jeffrey Donovan and Gabrielle Anwar perform the lead roles in this show. A viewer commented that I loved this show and had watched it thrice. The show is about a former CIA agent trying to prove himself innocent. 

7. The Righteous Gemstones (2019)

Danny McBride creates this TV show. Danny McBride performs the lead role. The genre of this show is dark comedy. The story of this drama revolves around family issues. A film buff has written a fascinating comment that it is the best TV comedy. The Gemstones are the worst and best people; I adore them.

8. Fargo (2014)

Noah Hawley creates this addictive series. A moviegoer stated that Fargo is the best television show I have ever seen. Fargo has different storylines and actors in every season. The genre of this show is dark comedy and crime.

9. Psych (2006 – 2014)

Steve Franks is the creator of this show, and James Roday performs the lead role. The storyline of Psych is about a detective who solves crimes for the police. A movieholic described this show well: I always warn people not to judge it by the first few episodes. This show starts rough but then gets better.

10. The Americans (2013 – 2018)

Joe Weisberg directs this TV drama. The acting of Keri Russell, who has played the lead role in this show, is commendable. The storyline is thrilling as it revolves around two Soviet agents operating in disguise in the US. The creator has very explicitly carved a story by connecting spying and allegiance. A random viewer has commented that I love “low-tech” espionage shows, with the humans doing all the stuff, not hi-tech toys. The Americans were top-notch.
