1. Always Buy the Latest Phone

Technical gadgets provide ease to the consumer. But these days, it has become the social norm to upgrade mobile phones without any genuine reason. As one person expressed as a tech guy, he learned people do not always need to upgrade. If something is working or has a fault that can be fixed, use it and save your money. 

2. Expensive Greeting Cards

If someone wants to express emotions and gratitude to anyone, sending a greeting card is the best. A greeting card is a decorative card used for many purposes, i.e., such as congratulation and apologies. But this is so expensive. People spend a lot of money to buy cards rather than using handmade cards or digital cards that cost cheap.

Buying lottery tickets is nothing more than buying dreams and fantasies. More than winning, it led to the loss. Though the program uses this money for funding, it leads to a loss of individuals who spend on tickets. As per the account of a respondent, the expected loss on a lottery ticket is 100%. But people still use to buy lottery tickets in the hope of getting the jackpot, and in this fantasy, they lose what they have.

Starbucks is the most expensive coffee brand. A cup of coffee from Starbucks costs 3$ to $5. People still used to have it through any local or homemade coffee can substitute for this. A person shared that buying Peet's bag costs $10 that last at least a month. One can have 2 to 3 cups of coffee costs $0.33 per day.

5. Alkaline Water

Alkaline water has some health benefits. The sellers label it as cancer preventing or hydration-boosting drink. Most people spend up to $4 to buy it, but it's nothing to do with disease prevention. So buying alkaline water is a rip-off for people living in an area where drinking water is pure.

6. Anti-aging Creams and Serum

The vast majority of people use anti-aging or wrinkle-reducing creams. Most people buy them to look younger or to transform wrinkled skin into baby skin. The fact is this when skin gets moisturized, it plumps up, and the line on the skin appears less noticeable. Those products are not actually removing wrinkles. According to respondents, it is better to spend a few dollars on sunscreen or face cream to keep our skin fresh. 

7. Cigarettes

The most common method of tobacco combustion is cigarette smoking. It often leads to severe diseases like lung cancer and bronchitis. Smoking causes the greatest no of death. The price of cigarettes varies from low to high. People still use it in the context of stress or trend, and later on, they become addicted and keep sending money on it. 

8. Watching Movies in Movies Theater

For public entertainment, Movie theaters trend growing fast in modernized areas. People used to spend a lot of money in movie theaters to watch movies. According to the perspective of one person, people have to rent the movie at the theater. It costs the same as owning a movie in the Blue Sky. Still, a large number of people spend a lot of money on it. As per the account of one respondent, homemade lunch for a whole week costs $9 and takes 20 minutes to prepare. It's much cheaper as compared to buying fast food for lunch.
