1. Doctor Who Kept His Hippocratic Oath

One user shared an incident where a doctor while transferring a critical COVID-19 patient to the hospital, realized that the patient's ventilator tube was misplaced. If not corrected, the patient could have gone into cardiac arrest. The tube couldn't be adjusted while wearing PPE. Giving priority to his patient's life, he disregarded the protocol, removed PPE, and attended to the patient, risking his life.

2. Teenager Who Thwarted the Suicide Bomber

A commenter told a story where a 15-year-old Pakistani boy while going to school, noticed an older man heading toward the school carrying a detonator. He decided to tackle him single-handedly. With the determination to save almost 2000 students, he did not listen to his friend's advice, who tried to convince him otherwise. He ran towards the suicide bomber, who blew himself, leaving him injured fatally. He lost his life later that evening.

3. Fictitious Disease Fooled Nazis

Another user recounted a historical event where Dr. Vittorio Sacerdoti devised a hoax when the Nazis started to drag his fellows from his Jewish ghetto during world war II. He told the soldiers that the people in his hospital were patients suffering from ‘K-syndrome,' a highly contagious, dangerous, and disfiguring disease. He instructed the decoy patients to cough loudly and consistently. Terrified soldiers left without verifying.

Polio was at its peak in 1952, with thousands of people getting infected and nearly half facing some form of paralysis. Someone noted that in those critical times, Dr. Jonas Salk discovered the polio vaccine, tested it on himself, and demonstrated its efficacy on people. He could have patented the vaccine and made huge profits, but instead, he selflessly gave it away so that people could benefit. 

5. Unity Is Strength

During a random rush hour at an Australian railway station, a man got stuck in the gap between the open door and the platform, a witness described. People alerted the officials and tried to save him in vain. People tried to stand inside the train, unsuccessfully, so the weight could help him. That's when they pushed the carriage away together, freeing the man.

6. Humans Are Mortals, but Good Deeds Are Not

Inspired by people who did good deeds, Liang desired to do great deeds himself. When he passed away at 11, he donated his organs. Although he lived a short life, he gave life to people who received his kidney and liver. A contributor paid him tribute; his legacy will live in the hearts of medical professionals and people who know him.

7. Foster Father for Terminally Ill

It is heart-wrenching to provide care for someone when you know they do not have long to live. A user noted how Mohammed Bzeek, a Libyan living in Los Angeles, has struggled with the feeling for over two decades. He is the only one in the area willing to adopt terminally ill children. Even when diagnosed with cancer, he asked doctors for time to ensure that the others were taken care of before going for his treatment.

8. Cop's Daring Rescue

A respondent shared an occurrence when a car crashed into the gas station while a police officer was filling up, setting the vehicle ablaze. The cop, noticing an unconscious man in the car, ran to rescue him. Rather than saving his car next, he got the first aid kit from his car moments before it burst into flames. He endangered his life to save the strangers'.

9. Brothers Not Enemy

During World War II, a historian shared, a German soldier spared the life of a b-17 aircraft pilot. The aircraft was flying back with one damaged and another dead engine after successfully targeting an aircraft production facility in Germany. The German soldier escorted the plane to safety, risking his life and the highest military rank. The two pilots met again 40 years later to form a lifelong brotherhood.

10. Lives Over Career

An individual told how Russian swimmer Shavarsh Karapetyan jumped into a chilling lake without a second thought and rescued people from a bus drowning in a lake.
