1. Nuclear and Arm Testing

1970 was the time when a lot of nuclear and arms tests were planned. Between the United States of America and the Soviet Union, many agreements were signed on these tests. At that time, people were less aware of the dire consequences of these tests. Also, they were happy to pave the path to becoming a nuclear power. But today, these nuclear tests are not accepted.

2. Insane Fashion Trends

Trends and fashion come and go. And after a certain period of time – after a century or half these trends repeat themselves. In 1970, a lot of trends were famous and accepted. These fashion trends include shiny shirts, bottom jeans, patterned gowns, and chest hair. But these trends are not accepted today because people have become more mature.

3. Absence of Women's Rights

In 1970 there was a total absence of women's rights. Domestic violence against women was common. The companies lack the basic rights of women. With the passage of time, the organization and movements start protesting for women's rights. And now, they have proper channels and dedicated organizations. Thus today, no woman is alone.

Child labor is a crime. But in 1970, it was not. Today one can call to police or organizations such as UNICEF if they see child abuse. But in the 1970s, every company or firm has people of every age as laborers. These people include under fifteen kids (girls and boys). Today no company can hire under eighteen.

5. No Seatbelt Laws

The 1970s lacked seat belt laws. There was no check and balance on traffic rules. Compared to that time, the current rules are very strict regarding seat belts. Not only the front but also backseats are obliged to fasten the belts.

6. Absence of Awareness About Mental Health

In this current era, it would be foolish to say that mental health is nothing or there is no need to consider this health. In the 1970s, people do not accept this health in their research and studies. They compare bad mental health with depression and ghosts. But now, people know about bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and many other related problems.

7. Racial Discrimination

The world is struggling to eliminate racial discrimination from people's mindsets. That is why a lot of companies have changed their fairness logos because fairness is not the measurement scale of beauty. But in the 1970s, people were judged on color, race, caste, minority groups, or religion. This racial disparity is unacceptable in this era.

The 70s is known as the industrialization era. Because the industrial revolution takes started in 1760. It introduces steam power and production. In this struggle for industrialization, business tycoons forget about its consequences on the environment. But today, the vast knowledge and strict rules say that the company has to fulfill the environmental standards first to run. 

9. Early Marriage

Early marriage has been an issue since the birth of Earth. In the 70s, it was not a big deal to marry underage kids. There were no rules and regulations for this. But today, no one can do this to any kid. Even the kid can complain about their parents. And police and NGOs are obliged to help them.

Limited options and opportunities for education, employment, and exploration limit the people. But today, the whole world is present at the access of one hand. People have to move to other countries for opportunities and never return for decades. Now one can fly from one corner to other corners of the world in hours.

The 1970s were far away from technology. The communication and transportation means were limited. People do not know how their dear ones are for months. Every work was manual. But today, if someone does manual work, he is considered mad or illiterate. Because today even to beat eggs, there is technology.
